Galapagos Water and Air Temperatures: What to Expect from June to October
During June to October, the Galapagos Islands experience cooler water and air temperatures. Water temperatures range from 16°C to 24°C (60°F to 75°F) due to the Humboldt Current.
Air temperatures are generally around 20°C (68°F), making it one of the cooler seasons in the region.
Currents at the dive sites can vary significantly, ranging from 1 to 5 knots, so divers should be prepared for potentially strong currents. The cooler water is also rich in nutrients, which attracts an abundance of marine life, including whale sharks and hammerhead sharks.
